Stinky Ants!

So remember how I said that Jacob got an ant bite??? Well, here is his story. We were sitting at the battle nibbling on kettle corn. Jacob was sitting on Jason's lap and I looked over and saw an ant on his leg. Time was in slow motion...as I was reaching and saying "Ant! Jacob has an ant on his leg!" Jacob started screaming "I've been bit!!!!(about 25 times, quite loudly). It was only one stinky ant and one stinky bite. At the battle we did not have any Benadryl or lotion or anything. (Yes, we've learned our lesson).

When we got home,I put Neosporin on it and gave him Benadryl. Since it was only one bite, it did not look too bad. Flash forward to breakfast on Sunday... Jacob keep itching his leg and complains that his leg has bothered him all night. I look at his leg and see a sore about the size of a quarter. So I give him more B and N. The B made him sleep the whole church service. Then at lunch he was complaining again. Now it was about the size of an Oreo cookie. I put a hot rag on it, which he really liked and felt some relief. More B and N. About 4, it was about the size of a small pancake and we drew the Sharpie line on his leg.
More B and N... Monday morning, he is still complaining,so we went to the doctor. She actually gasped!!! Look closely and you can see a ballpoint pen dotted line around the new infected area. It measured 17cm X 9cm... Impressive for one little ant, huh??? She gave him an antibiotic for the infection and a prescription ointment (for future use too).
Now he is totally fine! It took about 4 days for all the redness to go away. Poor baby!!! We will be watching out for ants this summer!
