The Tank Invention

Plain and simple, my boys are history buffs! They have been making battle plans with Blaine for months. All 3 of them draw plans, write directions and make maps of battles they will soon fight agains the pretend bad guys. They latest invention is a tank. They have been talking about it for weeks. And here it is...The Tank! All you need is a blanket, a bed rail and two small chairs. One soldier goes under the chair and shoots behind the Tank and the other is right under the blanket driving. The bed rail is going over the chair out the back and it is the gun part. Gotta love their imagination!

Oh So Thankful!

Last October, our preacher encouraged the congregation to focus on our blessings and record them as a family each day. We had such a wonderful experience focusing on all the good things that God has done for us, that we could not wait to start this year! Due to our trip to TN, we did not get started until November, but we still had lots of good discussions about the blessings God has showered upon our family. Here are the things we are thankful for this year (in no particular order)...
* having a brother and whole family who loves God
* warm house
* cold outside
* healthy food
* Flamingos (the people!)
* that God is safe with me and that I'm not afraid of Viola
* eyes to see
* laughter
*giving me a brother to play with
* Softest Bear
* rain
* the Holy Spirit comforting my heart
* Jesus in my heart
* toys
* music to praise God
* making my inventions
* having Mommy and Daddy love us
* our bodies
* creativity
* Christian friends to help support us
* my smart brain
* money
* my brother
* Mommy
* Daddy
* healthy family
* Bible
* our house
* good dreams
* two wonderful sons
* friends like Blaine, Annelise, Lauren,Reid, Macy, Kamri and Kaci
* forgiveness
* Daddy having a good job
* Granna and GPop
* cook breeze
* my heart
* good lessons from Mrs. Kim
* ears
*God spreading the Holy Spirit on our hearts
* God's unfailing love

Disney on Ice - Round 2

A few weeks back, we went to see Disney On Ice. We went in the spring to the Toy Story show and we all loved it, so when we saw that Peter Pan and Lion King were coming, we HAD to go!!! Rylan was so excited to take is glowing light stick to the show!
My sweet Rylan loves to hold hands like this...
Jacob's favorite part was Peter Pan. Rylan's favorite part was Peter Pan and a little bit of Little Mermaid.
My favorite part was Little Mermaid - great music!
Granna and GPop got to join us for the fun morning! They both liked Peter Pan the best too. Good thing Peter was the whole second act, since we all loved it! Jason's favorite part was a tie between Little Mermaid and Peter Pan.
When we bought a program, you got a "free" lei. Since it was girl-y, I got it! :)
This was the Lilo and Stitch part. Good music! We've never seen the movie.

After the show, we went to Maggiano's to eat an Italian lunch. It was FAB!!! Great bread and pasta for all of us!

Lovin' Our Favorite Veteran!

For the past 3 years, we have made a big deal out of Veteran's Day. The boys are fascinated with history and love, love, love to hear Popa tells his WW2 stories. They also love to see his flight jacket, dress jacket and hats. This year we made him a poster with drawings that the boys made. Rylan drew Popa's huge knife from India and Jacob drew Popa in battle in his plane. Then Rylan crawled up in Shake Shake's lap and listened to more stories. Thank you Popa for serving our country and thank you to all our Veterans to keep this the land of the free!

Some feelings never change...

So Creek's rival when I was there was Lake. In the past few years, it has shifted Springs, but in this Wildcats heart, I will never cheer for Lake (as a whole - I dearly love individual Lake people). So tonight was the big Creek-Lake game and we were all ready to be bundled up and cheer the Wildcats on to victory!
There really is just something WONDERFUL about Texas high school football!!!!
Jacob cheering after a Creek touchdown!
Rylan cheering after another Creek touchdown!
The half-time show was really good. Travis, our ring bearer, was the Lake drum major and we got to see Victoria dance. It was fun! And the Wildcats won!!!
All victories are great, but it is a little sweeter to beat your rival! Go Wildcats!
