A Day in Space

For the boys BD outing, we went to Space Center Houston. Since we live so close and since it was only $3 per person to upgrade, we got a year pass. One day last week, Mom and I took the kids for the afternoon. Our goal was to do the activities we did not do the first time. Here's Rylan looking cute by a rocker model! They loved the helmet try-on area. It gave me the lice creeps, but we all survived!

This is the size of Armstrong's footprint on the moon!
Jacob really enjoyed the name the planet computer game. He has been reading more and more space books lately! He always says, "God is so smart to make all the planets!"
About a year ago, Jacob got a smashed penny booklet as a souvenir from somewhere. Now, whenever we see a penny smasher machine, we HAVE to do it!

On Fridays they have a real astronaut come and speak! Today we got to listen to Brian Duffy. He was on 4 shuttle missions. His presentation was outstanding! The kids lasted for about 40 of the 45 minutes.
This was a game that was really hard... but still fun!
They have an area where life would be like on other planets. You can stand on scales and see how much you would weigh on other planets. This was the fave game having to do with air blasts.
And we HAD to touch the moon rock again!
Touring a mock shuttle was so cool! Everything was so big, yet so small!
The boys could not get over how many lockers they have to use so things don't fly off in space. It was neat!

RYlan loved all the buttons the pilot and commanders have to know how to use. THey wondered if Popa had all those buttons in WW2 on his planes.
We spent about 4 hours and were all pooped! We'll be back in a few weeks!
