Bunny Hopping 2009

The story of my life these days...late, late, late!!! Here is a snippet from our Easter fun this year. The bunny went overboard with fun baskets for the boys! Rylan's was full of farm books and toys and Jacob's was a cross between pizza and bears. Both baskets were a big hit and have been hours of fun over the last few weeks! :)
Our family on Easter Sunday... having fun but mostly remembering our Lord and His sacrifice.
The Saturday before Easter we went to a town egg hunt. We met up with several families from church. The boys adore this big girl! Thanks M for helping with Rylan and Jacob!
Jason and Rylan before the hunt began.
Kim and Jacob... I thought it was going to be spring weather! Wrong!!! It was chilly, so under those hoodies are cute green shirts.
After the egg hunt, we went over to Annelise's house for lunch, egg dying and backyard fun. Rylan was concentrating very hard on dipping his egg just so.
Jacob really like using the sponge to add more color to his eggs.We also decorated cupcakes! I don't know who enjoyed this part more - the adults or the kids! Jacob put three Peeps on top of his cupcake and then smashed it. Such a boy! Rylan on the other hand, but one Peep and then tried to put the whole thing in his mouth at once. Thank you for having us over for a delightful time!

And of course, Easter is not complete without family! GPop and Granna got the boys all sorts of Thomas things.
And Shake-Shake and Granny got the boys the world biggest chocolate bunnies! Can you tell how excited Jacob is?!?!?
Hoppy Easter 2009!

It's a Texas Thing!

This Saturday we made our annual trek a little north to see the bluebonnets. As always, we had so much fun! Here's the best picture we got of them together...
Sweet Jacob... he was much more cooperative than Rylan this year. He sat nicely and halfway posed! :) He was singing "I'm in the Lord's Army."
When you are two, the best thing about a field, is the size! The bigger the feild, the more space to run free. And that is exactly what the boys did...they ran!
Brotherly love!
Speaking of running... We parked on the side of the road about 300 yards from this barn. I wanted to have the boys sit and take photos, but they wanted to see the barn. Rylan is still obsessed with all things farm, so he wanted to touch and see inside a real, live barn. Jason is still on one crutch, or "crunch" as the boys say. So let's picture this... jacob and Rylan running as fast as their little 2 1/2 year old legs will carry them, Kim with wind-blown hair so she can't see where she is going chasing after the boys and trying to grab them for a picture, and Jason crunching through 300 yards of bluebonnets to get to teh barn... all as we are trying to dodge messing up other families photos! It was a sight!!! Sweet Rylan - full of giggles!
Rylan running. Seriously, he was like a mad man running through those flowers!!!
Laughing Rylan
Jacob, "Oh brother! When will we be done with photos so we can keep running???"
More brotherly love. (Notice the crunching Jason in the background.)

Let's go to a ...

CAVE!!!

The boys new favorite thing to do is create a cave with the red blanket and couches! They take fake picnics in the cave, read books in the cave, hide from "beeeeeeeeers," tell stories with a flashlight and sing songs.
Jacob reading The Mitten and Rylan with a pile of books.
I wonder if real caves are this much fun!?!?!?!?
