A few weeks ago, we did this same activity with penguin stickers. Since we are super excited about Dr. Seuss' birthday, we did it again with Seuss stickers! First, I drew "bubble numbers" on red paper. THen the boys cut out the numbers.
Then they stuck the corresponding number of Seuss stickers on the number.
Then we sequenced them and taped them to the wall. And of course, we had to make time for a hug! :)

Then they wrote the number on the chalkboard. Once they had 5 candies in their bowl, then they could eat one. BIG HIT!
Writing numbers is a new skills, so there was a lot of dot tracing, but overall, they improved and most importantly, had fun while learning! Who knew one bag of candy hearts would stretch so far?!?!?
But when I cut into it, lo and behold, it was pink! I guess I did not use enough food coloring! Oh well, it still tasted good and it sure is all eaten by now. The icing was divine!!! Thank you PW and next time, it will be red, not pink! hahahaha
After a fajita lunch at one of our fave places, we went bowling! Can you tell how much fun we were having?!?!? 
Rylan was extra excited because the kid-sized balls were green!
These 3 boys are the best Valentines ever!!! And they won! Jason bowled 122, Jacob 78, Rylan 62 and Kim 45. We are not the best bowlers in town, but we had a great time!
Gotta love the shoes! Now the boys want a pair to keep!

The party was very simple, but very fun! The boys had their very first Happy Meal. Jason and I do not care for Mickey D's, so we have never taken the boys there. In fact, I may have even said that it was "yucky and nasty" upon a few occasions. Rylan made sure to tell the teachers that Chick-fil-a was much better than McD's! hahaha 
Then the kids got to look through all the cards. Super fun!
And the teachers had a dessert surprise...decorate your own cupcake! You should have heard the squeals of 21 pre-schoolers! Rylan was fast and almost had it eaten before I could take another photo! That boy loves his sweets!

Some brotherly love before leaving! It was kind of nice have a simple affair. The kids had a blast and that's all that matters!

Of course, the boys hugging warms my heart, but I wanted to tell you about our February project that is behind them. Over November, we decorated our dining room window with leaves of thankfulness. The boys have been itching to decorate the window again, so for February we are focusing on love...especially the love of God.
They have never watched a Super Bowl before, but this year, they totally got all hyped about it. Jason's team is the Cowboys. He doesn't care too much for the Steelers since they rival the Cowboys and he's always liked the Packers, when they aren't playing the Cowboys. (Notice a trend???) Since the Cowboys were not playing, it was just another game to Jason...but to the boys it was AWeOMe because one of the teams was GREEN! So we got us a very healthy dinner...
And settled in to watch the game. Everytime the Packers did something good the boys danced and hollered like wild men! It was hilarous! Jacob really wanted the black team to win, but it was really the green team because on our TV their jerseys looked black. We let them stay up til the bitter end and they bit their nails along with Jason and I as the Packers pulled out a victory.
I"m looking forward to more game watching with the boys. I think we may have just started a tradition!
This was SO much fun! When I bought the candy hearts, it was a HUGE bag, so we've been doing more and more craft-y things with them! Today we worked on capital letter recognition and matching. To prepare, I typed an alphabet and printed it on cover stock. Then on the back of the hearts, I wrote one letter of the alphabet.
They both did really good and had so much fun. For every 5 letters they glued, they ate one clean heart. I think we may do this again with lowercase letters..or numbers...or match capital and lowercase. The possibilities are endless!

After we had gotten all the cards off the floor, we played another game. Each boy gave me 6 cards and we made matches. We took turns putting one card in the middle and then whoever had the matching card would lay it next to it. 
This was a BLAST! Totally the best time I've ever had with flashcards! Doing this took about 30 minutes and they asked to do it again! I guess we'll be doing more with flashcards in the future!
Then the boys painted a kite! After painting the kite, they cut it out and also cut out 2 bows for the kite tail.
After a little gluing, here are the finished products! The boys had fun doing this and declared that we HAVE to fly kites this spring. I can't wait! :)
The Aquarium was so neat! We went about 18 months ago, but the boys saw it is a new way this visit. They were more interested in specific animals and touching everything!

The teachers are really great. Miss V stuck to Jacob like glue. She did a great job explaining things to him and answering his questions. She will be a terrific teacher some day!
The boys with the 4 teachers assigned to them. I was so impressed with all of them. And the boys loved this spot...getting to see which penguin they are the same height as. Jacob was the same as an Emperor and Rylan a King.
That's a penguin! They swam SO close to the glass today. I think they were putting on a show for the kids! It was so neat to see their feathers and eyes up close.

After touring the Aquarium, they had a picnic lunch and played on the playground. The first field trip was a success! They both slept on the bus which meant an exhausted mommy had to perky boys on her hands. Oh well, life could be so much worse! :) I love my little perky boys!
