Edible Ten Plagues

A few weeks ago some ladies from church headed to Austin for the Central Texas Bible Teacher's Workshop. If you teach Bible class or have little ones, this is a WONDERFUL workshop! We all learned so much and had a blast too! One of the things that I learned was the Edible Ten Plagues. Two weeks later, we were teaching the Ten Plagues, so Daesha and I got busy re-planning so that we could do this neat lesson!

Here are the Plagues - from right to left...

1 (Nile to Blood) =sardines in tomato sauce (smelled NASTY and made us gag...one little darling are one and asked for more!)

2 (frogs)= gummy frogs

3 (gnats/lice) = sesame seeds

4 (flies) = chocolate chips
5 (dead livestock) = half hot dog weenie with 4 preztel legs sticking up - hahahaha - This was a HIT!!

6 (boils) - Ritz cracker with EZ cheese (for the puss) and a pepperoni on top (for the scab) - Made us gag! But it made an impression on the kids on how terrible this plague really was to the people

7(hail, fire and lightning) = Hot Tamales and ice
8 (locusts) = green Rice Krispie Treats with green licorice legs - Rylan was THRILLED to eat these leftovers!

9 (darkness) = brownies with 2 white chocolate chip eyes! (my fave to eat!!)

10 (death of firstborn) = lay three french fries in the shape of a door frame - squeeze the ketchup (blood) on the doorpost.
We had three darlings to learn this lesson. Overall it was a success!!! Linda, Rachel and Bernard came to watch and enjoyed it too! Not only did we do a lot of eating, but they all walked away with an understanding that God sent the plagues to show His mighty power and judegment and to prove that HE is the ONE TRUE God!!
