This year we decided to do a BIG cousins birthday instead of us, them and grandparents traveling up and down I-45 4 times over the next month. The cousins BD's are all within a month of each other, so one celebration with that side of the family was a perfect solution to beat the heat and gas prices! It was a great idea and the kids loved celebrating with that side of the family! The weekend started with a trip to the best park ever! This park is FULL of wooden castles, frogs, trains and more. We could have stayed for hours if it had not been 105 degrees, so we stayed for about an hour.

Almost 5 years old! He loves to hear a cap and I think he looks so cute...but grown up! sniff sniff

Sweet Evan - she is out-numbered with boys on this side of the family, but she can hold her own. They really play so well together! :)

My little train conductor! Even though Rylan is not as obsessed with trains anymore (sniff sniff), he still made a bee-line for the wooden train!

Gotta love Evan's static hair!

I wish you could have heard the squeals on the tire swing!!! Their happy faces say 1000 words!!

This was a challenge for Rylan, but he did it! I was so proud of him for not giving up and finishing the rope ladder.

Trying to stay cool in the shade!

There is a little train to ride that goes around the park. It was nice to have a breeze and the ride was about 15 minutes long. We all loved it!

Then it was off to lunch at Jason's favorite joint... Taco Casa!!!

Rylan and Evan had (oh, so healthy) nachos.

Jacob had a bean burrito. Jason and I both had spicy beab burritos (his fave) and a taco. They have the best sweet tea! It was a delicious (though not nutritious) lunch!

Then we went back to Popa's house to cool off and visit. Here he is with some of his great grandchildren.

Then we stopped by the cemetery to see Jason's other grandparents graves. It was sweet (but hot) and a touching time for the adults...
After grilling burgers at Justin and Karyn's, we headed home for bed...we were all worn out!

What fun!! The park looks like it has a lot, a lot of neat things for the kids to play on. They certainly look like they had fun!
Too bad it's sooooo hot--y'all were very brave.
Love the photos with Jason's G-Papa--so sweet!
