Arrrrrr Mateys!!!!

This past weekend, Rylan and Jacob had a super fun Pirate Party to celebrate turning 5. Jason constructed the BEST pirate ship from a fridge box. The boys LOVED it!!!
They were really excited to help with the decorations. They drew some pirate pics and we printed some pirate color sheets that they colored. I put them in the frames we already had around the house. It was really cute and the boys were so proud to help!! This one is by Jacob...notice the gold earrings!
This table had the party sacks, bandanas and sashes so that each child would look like an adorable pirate too!
The boys decided months ago that they wanted the pirate ship cake at HEB. So I consented that it was past my skill level and we decided to buy their cake this year. However, when we went to HEB last week to order it, they told me they no longer made it (even though it was still on display). I tried to remain calm...this cake was the origination of why they even wanted a pirate party! So Jason in all his calmness and wisdom (we are such a good balance for each other) said to breath and we would go to a local bakery. Which we did and she was itching to make a pirate ship cake - so here is Jula's handiwork. AWESOME!!!

More decor made by Rylan and Jacob... Nelda gave them these mosiacs and they LOVED making them! I've got to hunt down some more!!! The rings were a prize for popping a cannonball (black balloon) with your body.
Every year we get a hard-back book for all the kids to sign at the party. The boys love this tradition and were so excited to see what books were waiting this morning!

Once all the kids arrived, we went outside (in the almost deathly heat) to play pirate! The action shots were hilarious!! If we had not been melting, they would have stayed here all day!

Then we came in and I read the kids two pirate books as they cooled off under the fan and with a juice box.

The boys helped me paint an old styrofoam ice chest brown to be a treasure chest. The kids stood behind the sword and threw coins into the ice chest.

Then we went bowling!

Then we popped cannonball balloons... loud and fun!


Cake time! The boys LOVED their cake. It was as delicious as is was cute!
