The boys had their Zoo field trip in mid-April. Mom and I drove up and met the bus at the Zoo. It was the perfect zoo day - sunny, but breezy, not hot and not too crowded. The boys were so excited to snuggle up this gorilla statue. Cracked me up!
Rylan's first stop was the lions. We saw the male lion first and he was fairly close to the glass. He roared at one point and it was chilling. SO loud and Rylan loved it! After looking at the male for a while, we went to the ob deck below and got face to face with the lioness. She showed us her teeth and even licked the glass where Rylan's hand was at one point. Highlight of the day for my lion loving boy!!!It was cool enough that the tigers were up walking around! This was the first time we've seen them up walking! There were 2 tigers and they were so beautiful.
Jacob's first stop was the panther. He was asleep, so this was all we saw of him, but Jacob was satisfied.
Jacob picked the elephants next... it was so cute to see two babies! One big elephant kept swishing dirt onto his back. Some of the dirt even flew near us. It was really cool!
We were right by the rhinos, so we walked that way. On the path were African drums and other instruments. The boys had SO much fun making music.
Mr. Tim and Mr. Zach even got in on the fun!My sweet Jacob... it was so wonderful to be able to share animal fun with my animal loving boys!
We watched this giraffe eat for about 10 minutes. We don't think he was intended to strip the hibiscus clean, but he sure did! Rylan squealed at his LONG black tongue! It was really fascinating to watch him eat lunch.
Mom and Rylan are all grins... lots of hand holding fun!
We got to ride the Carosel! Rylan chose the lion and Jacob chose the chimps. They did not squeal like they did 2 years ago, but they cheered their animal onto victory!
This was the first time we have seen this peacock bank. You are supposed to put coins down it's mouth to donate for exhibits. Rylan just wanted to gag the bird. He thought this was hil-ar-i-ous!
Here's the whole pre-school! It was a successful day!
