We spent Thanksgiving in DFW this year. It was such a nice and fun weekend! Jason's great grandpa was able to join us and we all loved being with him. The boys LOVED showing him their Mavericks scarpbook. Jason and Popa used to watch the Mavs when Jason was little, so Popa is also a long-time Mavs fan. Popa got a big kick out of the boys telling him about the Mavs.
Wednesday night Jason got everything ready to fry his first turkey. I was a nervous wreck that the house would be burned down or that Jason would have major injuries, but all went well.
Then Thursday the frying began! Jason followed all the safety rules. The turkey was so delicious!!! I was very skeptical, but extremely pleased!
The kids had fun playing! Aren't they precious!!!!
After all the frying, Jason carved the turkey and Martha got all the other stuff laid out for the buffet.
Martha made dressing, mashed potatoes, ham, roasted turkey, and broccoli rice casserole. Karyn made her famous sweet potatoes and a banana pudding. I made fruit salad and green beans. Needless to say, we were all stuffed!
It is kind of funny to have a kid table! All 3 kids barely ate anything, but the fellowship was perfect! hahaha
We watched football, played at the park and chatted for the rest of the day. Overall, a wonderful day of being thankful!
