It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Over the last two weeks, we have been getting into the Christmas spirit! One of my favorite things to do is decorate the family tree! This year, the boys did 90% of the ornament placement. So our tree looks REALLY full on the bottom 2/3 and we love it that way! It was so fun to tell them and remember the places and people connected to our ornaments. We always get an ornament for our souvenir from trips and those are really fun to hang and talk about the trip. These two LOVE to decorate the tree!

After 31 years of being Mavs fan, Jason finally gets to hang an "NBA Champions" ball on the tree!

The finished product (except for the star on top)!
Another day, we baked our first batch of Christmas Cut-Outs. The recipe came from Jason's mom and it is the cookies that he baked as a boy. Needless to say, all three of my boys love them!
Like last year, we gave the boys a 4 foot tree to decorate and un-decorate a million times over the holidays. When we hit the Hallmark clearance sale this summer, they got a ton of ornaments for their own tree. Rylan was SO excited to hang is Packers football.
Jacob was SO excited to hang his Troy Aikman! In fact, Jason liked Troy so much that he moved Troy to the family tree! :)

Last week at Trooper School, they had Polar Express Day. Do you know how hard it is tofind non-fleece big boy Christmas jammies? It is very hard! These were perfect and the boys had fun eating cookies, playing games and watching the movie at school.
We started a new tradition this year that I stole from many of our friends. I wrapped 24 of our Christmas books and gave each book a number. At bedtime, they unwrap one book for our bedtime story. It has been a HUGE hit!
We made a countdown to Christmas one day. The boys had to glue the numbers 1-25 onto a blank Santa color sheet. Then every day we glue a cotton ball on the number. They like this so-so. They like the magnet one better...

And more is coming!
