Taste and See That The Lord is Good

Back in July, Heather's mom asked us to come speak at her church for their annual Ladies' Day. Initially we were overwhelmed with inadequacy and feelings that we were too young. But then after much prayer, we decided to take the plunge and seize this opportunity for spiritual growth.

Picking a topic was up to us, so we started with things we like. Coffee kept coming up and after we fully decided that was our topic, the lessons all fell into place.

In Savannah, we started a tradition of "toe-ing up" in special spots...here we are ready to leave the delightful BnB Saturday morning.
And here we are... full of butterflies and ready to speak. Our lovely preacher's wife, gave us the sweetest note before we left. As we read it we all got teary eyed to think of the importance God had placed on us to speak His word to these ladies. My dear friends...Lacie, Holly, Heather and Robyn.
And this is Heather's mom's BFF's with us - Tawana, Becky and Lynn. We were able to share dinner Friday night at Pocket's - complete with fried pickles and sweet potato fries! The thing I loved most about sharing time with T,B and L was watching them interact with each other and share their memories. It was exciting to think of us and how we will be like that in 20 years. Each of those ladies loves the Lord and gave us a wonderful example of loving Him and your friends.

We had 5 lessons. Lacie started with "The Chosen Cup." Then me with "Taste of the Lord," Heather with "Your Daily Routine," Robyn with "Coffee Talk," and Holly ended with "What's Your Temperature?" Each lesson flowed so well and built an inspiring day of practical tips for serving the Lord and evaluation of your personal walk with the Lord. We were each relieved after our lesson, but felt so full and glad of the message we were able to share.

At the end of the day, this was our table... we had papers, Bibles and candy everywhere! :)

During lunch the ladies also made a craft... a Scripture Book. This was an idea I dreamed up about 3 years ago...take a 4x6 brag book, decorate the cover, and add blank index cards. On the index cards write your favorite verses or verses you are trying to memorize. The brag book fits perfect in your purse, so you can carry the Word with you wherever you go! It was a BIG hit with the ladies that day!!!
After our teaching, we took in the sights of Heather's hometown. Here we are in front of the house from "Hope Floats." We also shopped Main Street and LOVED all the antiques and gift shops! Sunday after church we went back to Nana and Poppi's (Heather's grandparents) for lunch. Nana is such a beautiful example of hospitality. And Poppi is the kindest, most sweet man in the world!
Unfortunately, our weekend had to end. One last picture...in the middle of Main Street. In small towns, you can just stand in the middle of the road to take a picture!
On Saturday afternoon, a woman from a neighboring town asked how many churches we had spoken at before and to her surprise we told her this was our first. She then encouraged us to heed the calling the Lord had given us and teach his word to ladies. So we are excited and open to the idea of travelling and sharing the Word... we'll see where the Lord leads us! :)
